Destination unknown trip provides Youth with an experiential parable lesson

On Sunday afternoon, Sept. 28, FPC Youth traveled to the childhood farm of Youth Director Geri Doll. There her brother Evan Yoder demonstrated how the weeds and the wheat grow together in a special hands-on lesson on the Parable of the Weeds. The youth also took a hayrack ride through a buffalo pasture and sampled home-grown popcorn, zucchini muffins and fresh picked apples from the farm.

Thanks for your service to the homeless!

FPC youth packed peanut butter and jelly sack lunches to distribute at the “overflow of the overflow” shelter. The youth passed out the lunches after preparing and serving dinner to the homeless last month. In addition to Geri Doll and the youth group, special thanks also is extended to the Stephen Ministers, Roger Lyon and others for their help and assistance in feeding the group of homeless at First Methodist Church. A special thanks to Kristen and Steve Ivy for taking the lead on this project, and finding groups to work.
