Family Camp Open Houses on September 11 and 14
First Presbyterian
Church is holding an Open House on Thursday, September 11, from 1-4 p.m. at the
FPC Family Camp. Invitations have been sent to all congregations in the
Southern and Northern Presbyteries of Kansas, as well as faith groups involved
with on Inter-Faith Ministries—more than 600 groups have been invited.
In order to host such
an event, the Camp Committee needs help from the congregation. Volunteers are
needed to share information about the camp with guests. Volunteers don’t need
to walk the trails. They can visit in the lodge, at a picnic table or in one of
the cabins. If you’re a member with memories and experiences from the camp,
your enthusiasm and knowledge is valuable in getting the word out about the
camp. If you’re a recent member and would like to help–we want you, too.
The purpose of the
Open House is to promote the camp and increase usage by outside groups. If you
know a group that you would like to be invited to the event, please send an
email to receptionist@firstpresbywichita.org
with the group’s address and an invitation will be mailed to them.
If possible, please
contact the church office if you plan on volunteering for the Open House so we
can add your name to the list. Or, simply show up at noon on September 11.
Please call Lorena Kite at 683-7668 with any questions.
Can’t make the Open
House on September 11? New members and visitors, as well as anyone interested
in seeing recent improvements to the women’s shower room in the lodge, the new
bed and mattresses in the lodge loft and cabins, and the many other
improvement, -are invited to meet Lorena Kite for a tour on Sunday, September 14
at 1 p.m. Weather permitting, the pool will be open. Bring a picnic lunch and
enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors.
