First Presbyterian Church’s historic building provides a uniquely memorable setting for your wedding and guests. Whether you choose to use our main sanctuary dedicated in 1912, with its imposing gothic structure featuring exquisite stained glass windows, or our beautiful Chapel dedicated in 1935 that gives you an “old world feel” for a more intimate setting, you can be assured that your wedding will be a truly memorable experience!

Steps to scheduling your wedding:

· Contact the church office 316-263-0248 and speak to the receptionist regarding available dates and fee schedule.

· Print off (or request by mail) the Wedding Booklet and complete the Pre-Marriage Application and return to the church.

Marriage Philosophy

Humanly speaking, marriage is a civil contract among a man, a woman and the State. When a marriage is performed in the context of Christian worship, the proclamation of the gospel of reconciliation in Jesus Christ is a promise of blessing to the marriage. As the man and woman respond affirmatively to this proclamation, their marriage is in the Lord . . . The Christian marriage ceremony is a service of worship before God, normally conducted within the House of God.

· Weddings will not be scheduled more than one year in advance of the desired date of the wedding.

· Weddings will be considered scheduled only when the officiating pastor has approved the request and when the church has received a deposit.

· No dates will be held without approval and deposit.

· The deposit for the wedding is one half of all related fees and is non-refundable. All fees are to be paid in full by the time of the rehearsal.

· In the case of cancellation fees, less the deposit, will be refunded.

· Weddings are scheduled one per day on a first-come, first-serve basis. In cases where pre-scheduled church events create a conflict, church events take precedence.
